Darjeeling: Death of a patient in COVID Hospital, Report found Negative reported by EasternXpress Correspondent, Siliguri: Like all over the state, cases of coronavirus are continuously increasing in Darjeeling district also. Corona's case has taken the biggest jump in the district on Tuesday so far. A record of 20 new cases has been reported in one day. While a patient has also died. However, the corona report of that patient was negative.
The patient died at the hospital in Himanchal Vihar, Siliguri on Tuesday night. The dead man is reported to be from the Coochbehar area, who might be 60 years old. As per the information gathered, on 31 May man was admitted to Kovid-19 Hospital in Siliguri as a prospective Coronavirus patient. Darjeeling District Magistrate S Ponnabalam told reporters his corona report was negative on the 7th of this month. The patient can not be dismissed due to admission to the ICU. He's getting treatment.
Here, as per details obtained from the government sources of the Darjeeling District department of health, two North Bengal Medical College and Hospital staff, an intern, and an ambulance driver are involved in these 20 incidents. Six cases were registered from the Naxalbari Group, three from the Hangedwa Area, one from Mirik, and one from Kukia from Kovid-19. While two patients were found infected with the coronary artery virus at the Kavikhali Acute Respiratory, Kovid 19 Hospital is now Kovakhali. According to information received from official NBMCH sources, NBMCH currently has eight junior physicians, one senior physician, and two nurses infected with the coronavirus. Apart from this, right over around 40 junior doctors, two senior doctors and 10 nurses who have come in contact with these patients have been quarantined.
